Debbie Tiddy – Owner

I have been in the hairdressing industry now for 21 years. I trained in Oamaru and Australia. I decided to open my own salon in Oamaru in 2005 when I saw that Oamaru needed a new-look salon that offered excellent customer service and beautiful hair. My main focus for the salon was to have gorgeous surroundings for the clients to come in to, and for stylists to look after them and listened to them.

We have succeeded in this and have grown the team over the last few years. We have recently extended the salon to offer the new colouring lounge. I feel we need to always be looking for ways to improve the salon and new ideas. I love hairdressing and enjoy owning the salon. It is very rewarding to see new team members grow and become excellent senior stylists – it is like another family!

Hayley Aston – Manager / Senior Stylist

I have been in the hairdressing industry for ten years and began my career in Dunedin, where I attended a full-time course for a year before starting as an apprentice. I worked in various salons in Dunedin before returning to Oamaru. I have been with the Fusion team for 4 ½ years where I work as Senior Stylist/Manager. As well as having my own clientele, I help with the day-to-day running of the salon as well as training of apprentices.

There has always been a passion with me for the industry. I love the challenge of making people look and feel good about themselves. Hairdressing is an exciting industry that is ever changing to suit the fashions. The art of hairdressing is something that will always inspire me to learn, create and enjoy the latest trends.

Makayla Te Reo – Intermediate Stylist

Hey I’m Makayla, I am currently an Intermediate Stylist within the Fusion team. I enjoy every aspect of hairdressing because every day is different working with all types of clients, hairstyles and colours. I thrive on hairdressing because I find that hairdressing itself is an art, but placing styles and techniques onto the human body is a technical art. I love a challenge and working with clients who can provide me with the skills and knowledge to widen my opportunities within the hairdressing industry.

I hope that in the near future I can put these specialties from clients, tutors, regular workshops, and work colleagues together to make clients feel confident within themselves and making them feel at their best. Working at Fusion, I feel confident in myself to achieve this and make it happen!
